Coffee Morning

A community Coffee Morning will be held on Saturday 16th May, from 10am until midday, in support of the Salvation Army’s continuing humanitarian work in Ukraine. Local residents are invited to attend, enjoy refreshments, and contribute to an initiative that provides practical assistance to those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Alongside the usual refreshments, the event will also feature the sale of handmade cards, jigsaws, and embroidered hearts, created specifically to raise funds for Ukraine. These items represent both the creativity and compassion of those within the community who wish to offer tangible support.

Since the outbreak of war, the Salvation Army has maintained a significant presence across Ukraine and neighbouring regions. Its teams have distributed food parcels, hygiene supplies, warm clothing, and emergency shelter, while also offering emotional and pastoral care to individuals and families experiencing trauma and displacement. In areas where infrastructure has been severely damaged, the organisation has operated mobile kitchens, community hubs, and safe spaces for children, ensuring that essential support continues to reach those most in need.

Funds raised at the Coffee Morning will directly assist these efforts, helping sustain relief operations that remain vital as the humanitarian situation evolves. Though modest in scale, the event reflects a wider commitment within the local community to stand alongside those facing hardship far beyond our immediate surroundings.

Residents are encouraged to attend, bring friends or neighbours, and take part in an occasion that combines fellowship with purposeful support. At a time when global events can feel overwhelming, local initiatives such as this demonstrate that collective goodwill still has the power to make a meaningful difference.Saturday 16th May from 10 am to 12 am in aid of The Salvation Army’s work in Ukraine.
